Yes, we board your pets together in the same suite, as space allows. Typically we allow up to 2 dogs less than 20kg each to board together in a Standard room. Larger dogs can be housed together, although generally separated when we have the spare rooms. Up to two cats can be boarded together in one room. However, as cats can suffer from urinary conditions, we prefer them to be separate so that we can monitor them individually.

Every pet must have a current vaccination prior to checking-in. Pets that have not been vaccinated for more than 12 months must be vaccinated no less than ten(10) days before checking-in for boarding, day-care or grooming. By Law; vaccination certificates need to be sighted by a member of the Paradise Pet Retreat team prior to your pet entering the facility.

- Dogs: C5 Vaccination. This vaccination covers Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Para influenza and Boardatella bronchiseptia. Note: Dogs that receive the new 3 yearly vaccination must still have a yearly canine cough vaccination.

- Cats: F3 Vaccination. This vaccination covers Feline Enteritis, Feline Calici Virus and Feline Rhinotracheitis

Flea and Worm Treatments: All pets must have had recent flea and worm treatment not more than 1 month prior to check in as per the Code of Practice for Boarding Kennels and Catteries. Any pets coming into Paradise Pet Retreat that are found to have fleas or worms will receive immediate treatment at the cost of the owner. We are located in a known tick area, so we highly recommended your animals are treated for ticks no more than 1 month prior to check in.

In order to confirm your booking, during school holidays and over long weekends we require a 50% booking deposit to confirm the booking, with the remainder due when you check your pets in. We accept cash, cheque, Mastercard, Visa and American Express. Alternatively, you can pay directly into our bank account, but please email a confirmation or receipt if you pay this way. Please contact us if you would like our bank account details.

All dogs staying at Paradise Pet Retreat have access to our grass yards at least once per day, either for group play or on their own. We do aim to get them out onto grass twice a day, although the very odd occasion due to unforeseen circumstances this isn't always possible. However, we do also offer one-on-one playtime services for your pet. One of our trained pet concierges will play, run, pat, and cater to the needs of your pet in our large play area. We also offer walks for those dogs that need to burn off excess energy and love exploring the outdoors. The charge per playtime or walk session can be seen on our price list.

We do allow visits to pets on a long term stay, however this can severely stress them as they are not sure if they are going home or staying. It is our recommendation, that you leave them to settle here and collect them at the end of their stay.

We do welcome visitors to have an inspection of our facilities, but to minimise the disruption to our guests we restrict our visiting times. We are open for inspections Monday - Saturday 10am - 12noon. However, we do ask that you call first to confirm as we do not allow inspections during peak periods as we are busy catering to all our guests. We do not allow owners to accompany their animals to their rooms as this can increase the stress in your animals and also disrupt our other guests.

Your pets may have one or two toys to play with during their stay. However, we cannot guarantee the return of these toys as they are often taken in to the play areas and may be destroyed by another pet during your pets stay.

Our planned premium meal program consists of precisely portioned feedings of high quality, super-premium food. We only use Royal Canin which is recommended by Vets and other industry professionals.

However, if your pet requires a special diet, you can bring their own food when boarding. Our trained pet concierges will follow your instructions to make sure your pet follows their regular diet. By pre-bagging each meal in a separate disposable bag labeled with your pet's name, your pet will receive the exact amount of food that you feed him or her at home. *Please note a $2.00 handling fee per day may apply if you bring their own food.

We are more than happy to administer medication to your pet. All prescription medications must be provided with the dosage label as prescribed by a veterinarian. We are unable to accept medications that are unlabelled or loose. *Please note a $2.00 handling fee per day may apply for administering medication.

Rates are based on the day of boarding, not just as an overnight charge. Our team begins tending to pet guests in our care at 6am, so before you arrive for check out, your pet will have been fed, exercised, had his kennel area cleaned and, in some cases, have been bathed to prepare for going home.

We offer complimentary baths to our Deluxe suite guests regardless of their duration of stay. Our guests in Standard rooms, will only be bathed if their stay has been 7 days or longer. If you would like a bath on departure and your dog does not qualify for a complimentary bath, please let our team know and we can arrange this for you at an extra fee of $25.00. We also offer basic grooming for an extra fee. The price varies depending on the animal, so see one of our team members for a quote.

As we are a social kennel, we do encourage dogs to play with each other (under our supervision). Newcomers are assessed by our trained team for compatibility before joining a play group. We only allow dogs of the same size to play together. Group play is only allowed with the owner’s permission. Please notify us if you do NOT want your dog to join in playtime. Under the Pet Industry Code of Ethics cats are not allowed group play and are always exercised individually(or in their family group).

As per our Conditions of Boarding, Paradise Pet Retreat cannot be held responsible for any loss or injury to your pet during their stay. We do promise to take the utmost care of them and should they become ill we will first try to contact the owner, then either contact your nominated veterinarian, or have our emergency vet attend to them. All costs associated with treatment will be your responsibility.

The facility managers live on site and are here 24/7 after the rest of our team leave the premises.
